Life has been anything but normal these past few months and we sincerely hope you and your family are in good health. We are happy to inform you that we are now able to once again provide full dental care for you and your family. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed back in March. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.
Our office has always followed strict infection control standards and in order to keep us all protected during this pandemic and in the future, we have updated our protocols with the advisory of Public Health, RCDSO, ODA, CDC and CDHO. When we see you at your next appointment, things will be different.
- We will require you to fill out an Online COVID-19 questionnaire prior to your appointment and you will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. You will be asked to wear a type of facial covering (i.e. medical mask, scarf, cloth mask, bandana, etc.)
- We will ask you to come alone to your appointment unless you are a child or need to be accompanied for health reasons.
- You may be asked to wait outside our office or in your car and call us when you arrive, and wait for us to call you back into the office.
- We have touchless sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the clinic. There will be more dispensers around the office for you to use as needed.
- We will check your temperature once you have entered the office for precaution.
- Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, educational materials or children’s toys since those items are difficult to properly disinfect.
- Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
- You may be surprised that we are wearing more protective gear—such as masks, face shields, gowns—than we normally do during your visit.
- Our staff fills out daily medical questionnaires just like our patients do. Our designated receptionist takes the temperature of every staff member upon arriving at work and every four hours after that.
- We wear N95 or surgical masks Level III for aerosol generating procedures. We will also wear medical masks at the reception area as well as in common areas of the office.
- You will notice our additional office preventative measures right as you enter with the reception barrier shields to ensure the safety of our staff and patients. We have our operating rooms sealed with plastic wall barriers to ensure that the aerosol generated during the procedure is contained and the air filtration in the room reaches between 40-50 exchanges per hour.
- We also made sure that our central HEPA filters are changed and maintained according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- There is a wait time of 10-20 minutes in between patient procedures to ensure the air has time to settle and be filtered before the room can be properly cleaned and disinfected for the next patient.
- The operating rooms and reception area are equipped with air purifiers. We have three types of air purifiers; Austin Pro Health , Aller Air and IQ Air. Each filter the air at a rapid rate ensuring safety for you, other patients and our team.
- The waiting room areas, chairs and bathrooms are disinfected multiple times throughout the day. The most frequent contact areas are disinfected after each use.
- We will follow up with you two weeks after your dental appointment to make sure that you are still in good health.
